Equine Reverie

Date
June 3 to 7, 2026
Venue
King Heritage & Cultural Centre · 2920 King Road, King City
Type
Solo exhibition & cultural program

Equine Reverie explores the bond between horse and human through the work of Ann Clifford, unfolding in three parts: an exhibition of her sculpture, a live horse show, and a dinner at a historic carriage inn, now a fine-dining restaurant. Having grown up alongside horses, Clifford finds in them maternal love, the freedom of childhood, solace, and a path toward self-reflection. Her sculptures unite Western technique with Eastern philosophy, as developed through the Bauhaus method, and carry the memory of touch and the energy of movement. Rooted in King City’s equestrian culture and presented in the Year of the Horse, the program suggests that true horsemanship grows not from control but from understanding: a shared pace, a shared breath, a shared rhythm.
